Service Description
Embark on a flavorful journey into the world of fermentation in this hands-on, educational course. We'll begin by exploring fermentation basics and diving into the science of yeast and fermentation with sourdough bread, sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt and more. Students will also create their own pickle recipes while understanding the crucial ratios for successful fermentation. Explore the wonders of kombucha, tepache, and even wine fermentation, with tastings and group activities to deepen your understanding. Finally, wrap up with an exploration of cheese, miso, and natto, learning the intricate processes behind these delicious foods. Join us for a course that blends science, culinary arts, and hands-on practice to master the art of fermentation! You'll even get to name our class pet sourdough starter! Note: students will be required to bring an additional $30 to the first class, which will be used to purchase supplies for the 6-week course.
